Anthotypes are the result of an ecological technique that uses organic pigments obtained from flowers, roots, fruits and even spices.
The process comprises three stages: producing the photosensitive emulsion, coating the medium and exposure to light.
When exposed to ultraviolet radiation the pigments present in the emulsion will fade producing coloured printed images. Since no chemicals from traditional photography are used, the images’ ephemeral character go hand in hand with their creative value, making this printing technique an environmentally conscious practice.
