Introduction workshops exploring various disciplines and practices in the visual arts: the drawing inscription, colour in painting, modeling in ceramics, analog photographic processes, engraving in printing and graphics in illustration. The aim is to provide a playful space encouraging the free manipulation of different techniques and materials as a comprehensive introduction to various themes.

Program Participants will experiment with different drawing and painting techniques by looking at models and images, while exploring line, stain and colour with different materials (graphite, charcoal, India ink, watercolour, acrilic).

Program Animation Before Cinema - This workshop takes participants on a journey through time, unveiling the secrets of animation in its analog era. Through manual methods and traditional drawing techniques, students will learn how to create the illusion of movement, rediscovering the magic of the era before cinema. The workshop is dedicated to animation through the construction of optical toys such as phenakistoscopes and flip books.

Program In this workshop we will elaborate a small book with photographic images produced through a playful and creative introduction to its traditional processes: the “pin-hole” camera and “photograms”. Experimenting in the darkroom and developing in black and white on photographic paper. Experimental printing processes using sunlight and organic and natural materials: “cyanotypes” or “antotypes”.

Program In this workshop students will create a book from start to finish. Page by page, folio by folio, through drawings, illustrations, comics, monotypes, collage, writings, etc. Each book will be inspired on a short story or poem chosen at the beginning of the workshop.

Program In this workshop, students will learn to model and build clay figures using various techniques such as modeling, gluing and carving. Throughout the sessions, participants will learn about the properties of clay in its different stages of drying. The pieces created by each student will be painted in different colors, fired and glazed.

Program
An introductory program to the visual arts on Saturdays.
In these workshops, students will explore the various disciplines taught at Ar.Co through introductory exercises and with the accompaniment of specialized teachers. They will be able to develop a portfolio of work in drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry, illustration/Comics and cinema. They will also have the opportunity to try out new techniques and processes for making artwork and to develop previously acquired skills. The workshops can be attended on their individually or in sequence, allowing for a more comprehensive exploration of the visual arts.

Program In this workshop we will explore drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and mixed-media techniques in order to develop a narrative work that will become an artist's book. Through practical exercises and construction of models, each participant will experience different pagination and binding methods, from fanzine to hardcover book. Using images and other found materials, improvising visual and written stories, each participant will produce a book from start to finish.

Program Viewing of film excerpts. Introduction to the editing program (import, alignment, cutting, format and export). Group editing exercises using clips from a movie, paying special attention to the idea of continuity. The workshop ends with the screening of the results.

This workshop explores some of the different ways in which ceramic materials can be approached.
Students will learn different techniques of building with clay such as slab and coil.

Introductory course to drawing and painting through observation exercises using models, sceneries, visual compositions and nude live-model.
This workshop aims to develop the participants’ capacities for representation and expression, while providing a deeper knowledge of the materials used in drawing and painting: graphite and charcoal, India ink, watercolors, pastels, and oil paints. Contour, line and stain; contrast; light and shadow; representation of surfaces and textures; representing space, far and near; the human figure.
