Programmes

Note: In light of the covid pandemic and the unpredictability of its evolution, the programmes for the 2020/21 academic year have undergone format adaptations to on-line or on-premise learning (or a mixture of both in exceptional cases), Ar.Co’s priority being whenever possible on-premise. The schedules here announced therefore mention the format in which, except in case of absolute impossibility, the subject in question will be taught. Ar.Co will rigorously follow and implement all DGS guidelines, including the use of masks, distancing and hygiene.

Program Level 2 of the standard three-year program. An increasingly more experimental attitude is encouraged, with a view to achieving progress in the authorial dimension of each student’s work. The year will be divided in 3 parts. In the first of these periods, special emphasis will be given to practical exercises developed out of the classroom and subsequently discussed in group sessions. Exercises aim at reflecting an adequate relation between point of view, cinematographic vocabulary and finalized object, thus preparing the students for the development of a personal project. The second period will be dedicated to the writing and discussion of the annual personal project and to its pre-production. Finally, the third part of the year will include the actual shooting, the discussion of the material thus obtained and the following of montage until concluded. The course will benefit from the participation of guests who will contribute with their experience and skills to a widening of the students’ compositional horizon.
