Standard two-year program dedicated to the learning and development of technical and creative skills in photography. The photographic camera; shooting; black and white Lab work; digital photography; lighting; color in photography; alternative analog techniques and processes. History of photography and Projects. Progressive and personalized attention is given to the participants’ work with a special emphasis on the development of authorial and artistic projects.
Further development by applying to Advanced Course in Photography and Individual Project and/or Advanced Course in Visual Arts.

Digital Lab 1 approaches the techniques of shooting and editing of digital images in parallel with the study of analog photography, departing from the idea that these two technologies are similar and have common principles. Preparing the digital camera for shooting, use and optimization of the menus and presets. Managing and processing the different types of files for post-production in Photoshop. This course precedes Digital Lab II

Program Exploration of the use of light as a creative medium, taking into account its plastic and visual potential as a working basis for painting, drawing, photography, etc. This practical course allows students from various disciplinary areas to work with different light sources on objects and scenographic situations. Analysis of the prehistory and protohistory of photography while contextualizing historically the “Photographer’s media”.
II. “Phorography and Painting vs Painting and Photography”
Departingh from the photographic archives of Aurélia de Souza, we will reflect and create a case study about photography at the time of the painter Aurélia de Souza (1866/1922).
III. “Lisbon - sad and happy city"
Reflection and analysis of the book “Lisboa-cidade triste e alegre”, a graphic poem built and published in 1959 by the photographers and architects Victor Palla (1922/2006) and Costa Martins (1922/1996).
