Program A theoretical and dynamic reflection on the “death” of photography at the end of the 19th century and on the birth of modern 20th century photography. Departing from the photographic and patrimonial legacy of 19th century Portuguese photographer Carlos Relvas, we will produce a context for photography and for its many pioneers. The study of the most significant 20th century aesthetic currents will helps us draw and understand the contours of photography in the beginnings of the 21st century.
