FULL PROGRAM PAINTING 2022/2023

Heads of Department: Marcelo Costa

Standard three-year course aiming at the development of the technical and conceptual/authorial dimensions in painting. A diversified learning process leads to the widening of the participants’ cultural, technical, and artistic horizons. Practical and thematic exercises promote the development of the students’ observation and representation skills, while encouraging an experimental attitude regarding ways of making and the use of materials (oil and acrylic paints, gouache and watercolor, chalk and pastel, India ink, etc). Individualized modes of expression should translate the participants’ gradual familiarity with the main questions concerning contemporary artistic creation. Personalized attention is paid to each student’s progress, followed in a continuous manner by teachers and confirmed in formal evaluations with the head of department. In each of the three levels of the course, the main objective is to produce an abundant personal portfolio.
