Where does value and richness lie in the jewellery-making we practise today? What interests us, and what is it our role to contemplate and create?
Are we collectors? How do our gestures—as traces of our thoughts, as ways of thinking put into action—transform materials into value? What sort of Midas figures are we?
We are guardians of a culture that manifests itself in images from many eras within us and in our surroundings. Our choices, every time we touch something and begin the interplay between tools, materials and gestures, are a responsibility that offers something re-signified back to the world.
This workshop invites reflection on this theme through practical exercises and minimal materials.
